By 1983, it was "Liquor Barn"[6], followed by "Tower Records" and in 2013 demolished to make way for Walgreens.

"Liquor Barn", then "Tower Records".

The Los Angeles Times says, opened in 1950. So far, in my searches,
I have not found a grand opening ad to support that date.
